The Gideon’s Promise Leadership Summit was held at the end of July this year in Atlanta.
Each year, Gideon’s Promise hosts an event that brings together public defenders from all over the United States, those who participate in the organization’s Leadership Development offerings and those who commit to the three-year-long training designed for defenders with 1-3 years of experience, Core 101.
A smattering of defender colleagues from North Carolina—who are affiliated with this specific cause—attended this three-day-long event.

Alongside other Chief PDs from across the country, our own Kevin Tully, Chief Public Defender for Mecklenburg County, shared his experience and what it means to serve and operate as a Gideon’s Promise Partner Office.
